Projects    'One River - Alluvial Connections' Belconnen Art Centre ACT, Signal Point Gallery SA, 2013

For the centenary celebrations of Canberra in 2013, Robyn Archer AO conceived a project that involved artists from ten locations across the Murray Darling Basin.

“Margaret Worth’s proposal, Alluvial Connections, was selected as one of the ten that brought together cultural, scientific and economic thinking about our waterways, reaching back from the end of the river system and connecting with the national capital and all the communities and towns within the Basin’s path.” Lindy Allen.

Ice-age sands, ancient river stones and landscape projections provide a setting for song, local histories and performance. It is a mythological story of a love affair between the river and a fisherman, with the river as a woman.

It was presented at Signal Point Gallery, Goolwa SA and the Belconnen Art Centre, Canberra ACT.
